Situato nei pressi della spiaggia di Porto Ferro, meta preferita per le escursioni a cavallo, insieme al lago Baratz, l'unico lago naturale della Sardegna, dove si arriva dopo aver percorso degli itinerari spettacolari con panorami incantevoli tra la fitta macchia mediterranea, le spiaggie e le scogliere: tutte bellezze di qui è ricca questa zona dell'isola.
E praticare l'equiturismo è il metodo più indicato per scoprire questi paesaggi, sentire i profumi e il sapore della terra che solo la Sardegna possono offrire. Grazie a Kaya e Michele, gestori del Centro Equestre Tre Stelle "Sa Mandra", tutto questo ora si può realizzare. Partiti dalla stessa passione per il cavallo e per la Sardegna, i gestori ormai si dedicano esclusivamente a quest'attività ed a condividere con i turisti i paesaggi e le emozioni che questa esperienza può offrire.
I cavalli, tutti preparati per questi percorsi, vanno da quelli utilizzabili dai pricipianti a quelli per cavalieri più esperti che non disdegnano un "galoppino" sulla spiaggia.
Prima dell'escursione, alcuni minuti sono dedicati all'avvicinamento al cavallo: questo aspetto è molto utile per ottenere un buon approccio e per superare le prime paure che questo grande, ma dolce animale può suscitare. Una volta in sella si parte dalle scuderie del centro verso il mare passando per i sentieri delle pinete di Porto ferro.
E' possibile incontrare durante il tragitto qualche lepre e qualche cinghiale, animali protetti che vivono sotto tutela nel Parco di Porto Conte. I turisti entusiasti hanno la possibiltà di vedere il tramonto a cavallo: il sole che sparisce pian piano in fondo al mare tra i profumi della macchia mediterranea e il rumore delle onde.
